Director of Information Technology Job in Hamilton (Hamilton-Wentworth, Ontario, Canada)

Job Description:
- Oversees the operation of the IT department and ensures alignment with the business objectives of the organization.
- Principal goals are to ensure delivery of systems and processes to attain all IT service level agreements for the user community within the organization.
- Work closely with global IT organisation to deliver best in class solutions for Canada in a cost effective manner. This includes effective partnering with the IT service delivery leadership such as Application Solutions, Infrastructure and Project Management Office.
- Provides direction and support for IT solutions that enhance mission-critical business operations including support for corporate ERP systems implementations. This will be accomplished in conjunction with the global Applications Solutions team.
- Active participation as a key partner in the Canada Leadership Team and the International IT group to set strategy and direction and to influence these groups to optimize plans.
- Manages IT department operational and strategic planning, including business requirements, project planning, and organizing and negotiating the alLocation: of resources.
- Manage project demand and expectations including resource/capacity/benefits evaluation and prioritization.
- Communication processes with all key stakeholders including transparency & understanding of ITO strategy, policies standards and service expectations.
- Develops and reviews IT budgets and ensure they comply with stated goals, guidelines, and objectives including financial approval processes as necessary.
- Manage and lead the Canada IT team in the interim period prior to alignment with the global IT organization
- Must be able to travel in and out of the United States

Qualifications/Work Experience: • Business/process management experience
- Experience of implementing ERP systems – Oracle preferred
- People and team management experience
- Ability to lead by influence rather than simply control
- Exceptional analytical and strategic thinking skills
- Understanding of the Canadian Medical Device Regulations
- Understanding of ISO 2001 requirements
Education and/or Special Training: • University degree required, MBA is a plus
- 10 years experience managing IT and service departments

Percent Travel Required: Approximately 20%
