Our client has become known for it's range of schemes covering projects across transportation infrastructure embracing all of the West Midlands and are an organisation who offer the opportunity to work on some high profile projects.
As the key role in ensuring and process control, support and guidance for all capital project development and ensuring adherence and consistency for all projects being developed through a "gateway" process, the Team Leader will ensure that all scheme development follows a high quality process standard and that necessary support and guidance is provided for projects.
The team is responsible for working closely with project managers and senior staff in monitoring progress, providing regular reports, and resolving process issues, to enable a high standard of project delivery.
Role: Support the Programme Planning and Support Manager in the provision of project management support, project process control and project data monitoring to ensure the effective delivery of the organisation's investment programmes.
Accountabilities: Manage, develop and maintain the Projects Database and to generate appropriate programme and project status reports to support delivery monitoring for management purposes Develop and control project procedures and documentation to support effective project management Provide support, guidance and creative solutions in project management and process control in ways which are supportive, collegiate and add value
Responsibilities: Co-ordinate the development, management of and compliance with the project delivery process, throughout the company Ensure that programme and project risks are assessed, managed correctly and that risk is appropriately allocated Provide leadership and direction to a team of staff responsible for managing project process and control systems Co-ordinate the development, management of and compliance with Gateway and project delivery processes throughout the company Co-ordinate the administration of programme / project reports to PTA / Committee and Agenda meetings Support final gateway / post implementation project reviews and to capture and feedback lessons learnt Responsibility for health and safety training and development as defined in company policies.
Qualifications: (The qualifications below are not required in all cases, but indicate the level of intellect required to perform the duties of the post.) Degree or equivalent Full or associate membership of an appropriate professional institution desirable.
Skills/Knowledge/Experience: (In addition to the generic Management Competencies) Computer literacy including database establishment/management Experience in a transportation infrastructure and project control systems related environment Practical experience in application and administration of project gateway reviews Comprehensive experience of process management and change control
