An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Ecologist in Stroud with one of our leading international engineering consultancies that specialize in infrastructure, property and environmental solutions.
As the Senior Ecologist your main duties will include, but are not limited to:
Project Management, co-ordination of field surveys, client liaison and consultations with statutory and non-statutory consultees Desk studies –reviewing and assessing existing ecological information Ecological field surveys and training of junior staff Research projects, review of documentation, statistical analysis Assessment of the impacts of proposed developments or changes in land management; developing recommendations for the mitigation of ecological impacts and devising monitoring schemes Practical habitat creation work or other site supervision tasks Production of survey reports, Environmental Statement chapters, licence applications and other documents Attendance at meetings and providing advice to clients General administrative / management tasks such as Quality Assurance Marketing and Health and Safety Managing budgets and production of bids
Our client is looking for someone with ecological principles, relevant wildlife legislation and ecological impact assessment, with an in-depth knowledge of particular plant or animal groups and appropriate field survey skills. You will also have commercial and financial awareness.
It is hoped that you will hold a relevant first degree and be a full member of IEEM with a full driving licence.
For the role of Senior Ecologist you must be willing to stay away from home when necessary for field work. It would also be advantageous for you to hold Survey or development licences with a second degree in a relevant field.
