Position: Hotel Consultants / Conference Consultant
Location: UK, South West, Taunton, Somerset
Salary: Circa 13,000 & Benefits including Pension, Life Assurance, Etc…
Job Purpose:
To process all client requests for accommodation as quickly and as professionally as possible, within agreed turn around times, keeping client(s) informed of any reason why there may be a delay.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Customer Liaison To ensure that phones are answered in a prompt and polite manner for your or any team, at any time. To take client reservation requests, ensuring that all information is correctly and accurately written on a Reservation Request Form or entered onto the Client Request. This information must then pass to the relevant team promptly. To book the appropriate hotel(s) based upon clients request for area, room type, price band and account instructions, so that maximum benefits is gained by both the client and BSI. To be proactive in offering alternative accommodation if client choice is full. To ensure that clients preferential rates are applied to each booking when applicable.
Hotel Liaison To negotiate a commissionable rate with any hotel that does not have an agreement with BSI, and pass relevant information to Hotel Liaison Department. To deal with non-arrivals and central accounting queries wherever possible or pass said queries to your Supervisor. To chase and supply guest names on ‘name to be advised’ bookings.
Information Technology: To transfer all reservations data onto the computer system accurately, including inserting the correct client and hotel fax number, and to confirm booking to client by auto fax, e-mail or telephone / post should no fax number exist. To ensure all clients rate enquiries are typed and sent out in the required format.
Working Hours and Responsibilities:
To participate in the Opening and Closing duties. To provide office cover on Bank Holidays and weekends, when requested. To cover off site Network Implants and Overseas Offices, when requested and following consultation. To work on any team when requested, to cover busy periods, sickness or holiday. To attend presentations and familiarisation visits as specified by the company, to enhance your own personal product knowledge. Responsibility for the tidiness of the general office and own desk.
