The Position:
The position will report to the Contracts Manager and will be based at the Company's main UK works in the East Midlands.
The key responsibilities are:
• To play a key role within the Contracts Department in achieving the cost effective, efficient on time and accurate execution of contracts consistent with the client’s business objectives. • To maintain good relationships with major international contractors and visit on a regular basis. • Continuous improvement to increase speed and accuracy of contracts through the company. • Use of IT to improve systems and procedures for interpreting customers requirements and relaying them into the company to ensure both internal and external customers meet software and hardware delivery deadlines. • Accurate on-time issue of all necessary production information and documentation. Handling and controlling contract changes to help meet monthly invoice targets. • Increase staff awareness of impact of customer Terms and Conditions and how to avoid or counter onerous contract requirements. • Contract management including planning, resource, execution, budgeting, reporting and monitoring contract costs and likely impact. • Customer contact including 'kick-off' and pre-inspection meetings and dealing with progress chasers and witness inspectors. • Prompt close relationships with key sub-suppliers. • Liaise closely with the Sales Managers to plan forthcoming orders and identify and potentially difficult contracts before orders are placed. • Work with other operational managers within engineering and manufacturing to ensure on time and accurate execution contracts. • Perform annual appraisals, identify training needs, promote team building and motivate team members.
The Project/Contracts Engineer is likely to be to HNC/HND level and be commercially astute.
Remuneration Package:
The Company offers a basic salary negotiable, dependent upon experience, up to 30,000 per annum. Other benefits will include BUPA, life assurance and a generous pension scheme. The Company will additionally provide a full relocation package where appropriate.
