| To assist in the editing and production of the bi-monthly magazine 'Pocklington in View' which is issued to all users of the Charity's services. Key Tasks: The volunteer will work closely with the Regional Director and Head Office administration team to produce the bi-monthly newsletter for service users. It includes updates from all our Centres, Pocklington policy updates and news from the visual impairment sector. The role will involve planning the layout of the magazine, liaising with staff and service users to gather articles and photographs, proof reading and contacting other sight loss organisations for information. Key Skills/Experience/Attributes Required: Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work without close supervision where appropriate. Familiarity with various IT packages including Microsoft Publisher. A good team player with effective communication skills. A reliable and responsible individual with lots of enthusiasm. Experience of producing internal communications an advantage. Special Requirements: A relevant qualification would be an advantage, but not essential. References and a Criminal Records Bureau check are required for all volunteer roles.
