This post offers wide ranging experience in the assessment, diagnosis, and management including risk assessment of patients with a severe mental illness or disorder traditionally seen in adult mental health services inpatient care.

This job is hospital based. The work will involve assessment on admission, diagnosis and formulating a care/management plan for patients admitted to ward and patients registered within East Glasgow catchment area admitted to the acute wards.

The trainee is expected to regularly review the patients and to take part in weekly multi-disciplinary team (MDT) meetings and ward rounds. The trainee will be on an ECT rota at DOP.

The trainee will also gain experience to liaise with other specialist teams such as the Early Intervention Psychosis Team, the Home Treatment Team, the Supportive Outreach Team and the east Glasgow Community Mental Health Team.
