We are currently seeking to recruit an Electrical Engineering Manager to take overall responsibility for electrical and CandI engineering issues in our clients renewables group. The position will report to the General Manager Technical Services. The candidate will be required to have excellent managerial skills and technical skills. The location of the post will be Glasgow, Perth, Belfast or Dublin. Key Responsibilities Safety - ensuring we design and specify all electrical plant for safety Representing the company at Euro level on technical workshops and forums Ensuring correct technical specification and quality across electrical and CandI disciplines Ownership of template electrical and CandI functional specification documents (Employer's Requirements), ensuring that we design for safety, value and quality Ensuring correct electrical and CandI technical specifications are applied at project level Managing a team of diversely located electrical and CandI engineers to deliver on the company's onshore and offshore engineering requirements Managing all aspects of the grid connection process including: Preliminary grid feasibility studies Grid connection applications Negotiation of detailed terms with utility companies and regulatory authorities Securing grid connection agreements Managing connection construction Securing project Grid Code compliance Setting, implementing and regularly updating an independent grid strategy for each of the various regions in which the company operate Preparation and regular updating of project 'grid plans' for each project Company electrical engineering strategy for research Ensuring all electrical engineering activities are carried out to the highest quality standards and in accordance with the relevant SHE standards Experience The candidate will be a graduate chartered electrical engineer with extensive relevant experience in the key elements required to build on and offshore wind farms.
