Post title: Rail Civil Design Engineer

Salary Range: GBP 30,000 - GBP 50,000

Due to a high level of expansion our client is currently seeking a Rail Civils Design Engineer to work along side the Associate in helping to develop the business line from their Leeds based office.

You will be required to work in a new team carrying out civil design engineering, assessment and managing small to large scale projects. The role will have a strong technical focus.

o You will be working on a range of rail civil engineering and development commissions, ranging from inspection and assessment work to feasibility studies
o Delivering engineering solutions and reporting results to managers and clients
o Preparation of the job design specification and all necessary material and workmanship specifications
o Supervision and mentoring of Graduate Engineers in the design of rail civil engineering infrastructure
o Providing support to other disciplines as required by the office workload and be able to positively advise on aspects of their design as it impacts on other engineering functions.
o Leading and administering several Civil Engineering design works on the project to which you are assigned
o Maintain interface with CAD development group to maximise effectiveness of CAD work on the project
o Ensure that all necessary QA functions are carried out for the project in accordance with project procedures
o You will be expected to undertake the risk and commercial management of projects reporting monthly to the project director

Essential competencies/skills:

o Understanding of construction process in rail engineering
o The ability to communicate effectively and professionally with all levels of staff and external clients/contacts
o Ability to deliver to deadlines and work autonomously when required
o Valid Driving license
o Strong IT skills ideally with Microsoft Project experience
