Staff Nurse – RMN Birmingham 20,010 - 25,500 pa plus allowances (1,312 clinical allowance) 37.5 hrs per weekPULSE are looking to recruit a number of Staff Nurse RMN’s for a medium secure unit in Birmingham. As part of one of the leading mental health organisations in the UK, you will be offered an excellent opportunity to progress your career in mental health nursing. The unit caters for males in a medium & low secure setting and also specialises in learning disabilities. The core responsibilities for the RMN will be: § Responsible for the assessment of care needs and the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care with supervision. § To occasionally take charge of the ward for a span of duty. § To be vigilant of risk at all times and report accordingly. § Ensure that the nursing practices of the area comply with Policies and Procedures. § To participate and assist in setting standards of patient care based on sound research findings. § To be involved in planning, organisation and deployment of staff according to competencies and workload in order to meet patient needs. § To participate and assist in systematic monitoring and evaluation of nursing practice. § Within the framework of the Care Programme Approach (CPA), co-ordinate and monitor the progress of patients along their care pathways and communicate relevant information to the multi-disciplinary team (MDT). § To support the implementation and maintenance of Team Nursing by effective communication. § Act as a mentor to junior nursing staff. § Assist in development, dissemination and application of research-based findings to nursing practice. § To assist in i) Induction of the staff to the area ii) Ward audit and Clinical Governance strategy. § To maintain confidentiality of all information. § Communicate and liaise with all health care staff, including visitors. § To be fully conversant and comply with current legislation/professional standards. § Be personally responsible for maintaining statutory/mandatory and other Training, including refresher training, within timescales. § To be involved in the ongoing training/development of staff. § To be fully involved in clinical supervision.
