Company Info: This large, well-equipped hospital is seeking cardiac nurses at a variety of levels to work in the cath lab and recovery area. Professionals at Band 5, 6 or 7 level are sought and the basic skills required for these positions are listed below. In addition, for the more senior roles candidates will require management and leadership skills and the ability to teach, train and guide staff.
This hospital has a new theatre complex, a Critical Intensive Therapy/High Dependency Unit, a Day Surgery Unit and a Short Stay Unit, an 8 bed Coronary Care Unit accompanied by a 6 bed Post Coronary Care Unit which acts as a step down unit, an Angiography Suite and an excellent new rehabilitation department. The successful candidates will be working with top-of-the-range equipment and excellent frameworks for career progression are in place.Responsibilities:
* Experience and ability to work independently at scrubbing for angiograms/angioplasty/pressure wires/permanent pacemakers/bivent pacemakers/implantable defibrillators/temporary pacemakers.
* Be IV trained and possess strong knowledge of all drugs used in the cath. lab.
* Capable of carrying out venepuncture and cannulation.
* Have Intra Aortic Balloon pump knowledge.
* Experienced with use of defibrillators, ILS trained and up-to-date with resuscitation skills.
* Comfortable with Cardiac Monitoring and able to interpret.
* Experienced with ECG Recognition.
* Possess recovery skills i.e. sheath removal and groin management.
Requirements: * Degree in Nursing or equivalent.
* Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council in the UK (NMC).
* Ideally have some experience and/or strong interest in Cardiac Nursing.
