Responsibilities: *Provide an excellent scanning service, optimising care standards for all patients. *Undertake ultrasound examinations and provide diagnostic reports to assist in patient management. *Support the Head of Ultrasound, Regional Clinical Lead and clinical colleagues. *Assist in the training and assessment of other staff, including Clinical Assistants. *Seek guidance wherever necessary to ensure patient care is not compromised. *Participate fully in company audit and clinical governance procedures *Develop skills in line with Training and Development opportunities and courses both internal and external. *Maintain and improve personal clinical standards with evidence of CPD. Develop knowledge and understanding within an evidence based framework through reflective practice. *Maintain high standards of Health and Safety. Particular emphasis is placed on RSI and safe scanning techniques. *Ensure that the reputation and standards of the company are maintained and to report to the Head of Ultrasound any instances that may compromise the company, it's staff, customers or patients. *Comply with the MHRA guidance on Ultrasound safety and have a working understanding of the guidelines for Ultrasound equipment in clinical use (MHRA 2002). *Acquire, interpret and report on all ultrasound examinations requested in differing and demanding environments, working to protocols, locally devised and national imaging guidelines and protocols. *Participate in self and peer review to ensure high quality scanning and reporting is maintained. *Assist in audit and Ultrasound QA program, reporting any problems promptly to ensure equipment and operator consistency. *Empathy and professionalism to be maintained at all times. Requirements: *HPC Registration (if originally qualified in radiography). *Postgraduate qualification in Medical Ultrasound (ideally from a CASE accredited institution) or equivalent. *Extensive clinical ultrasound experience. *Ability to write reports independently.
