| Company Info: This specialised unit provides care for those suffering from Alzheimers and is seeking a psychiatric nurse who is committed to providing the highest possible standards of care to join their team. The organisation has a strong focus on developing their people and provides a comprehensive induction programme as well as on-going training and the attendance of development courses is encouraged. This unit provides an initial assessment of each patient's mental, physical and social skills and then goes on to provide the care and treatment needed. The unit is also linked with other related units so that as a whole they can provide the best possible care. This role would be ideally suited to someone passionate about working in the area of psychiatry and is a fantastic environment to work in as this facilit is state of the art, purpose built and set in a stunning location. Responsibilities:
*Guide the patients and their families on care and treatment.
*Encourage patient's participation in a variety of activities and so stimulate the memory process.
*Promote the concept of minimal use of medication.
*Maximise the patient's quality of life so that dignity is maintained throughout the illness.
*Encourage patient's participation in daily activities and therapy programmes. Requirements:
*Specialist Psychiatric Registration with An Bord Altranais
*Ideally have a minimum of 2 years post registration experience in Care of the
*Psychiatric nursing experience while not essential would be a distinct advantage.
