| Job Reference: VP65391T My client requires an ambitious consultant to provide senior, experienced environmental and building acoustics capability to their Cardiff office, to enable the company to deliver these services either as part of multi-discipline reports and projects (such as EIA's or major schemes) and discrete technical studies. The candidate will be required to: - - Design, manage and deliver environmental noise surveys and impact assessments to existing and new projects ongoing within the business. - Manage environmental noise surveys and projects, providing technical and management support to junior staff members in completing surveys and reports. - To actively promote the environmental acoustics capability within the business and to their clients. - To work with senior members of the team to prepare and deliver a business plan to build the acoustics business through the Sussex office and nationally by making contact with potential clients and promoting the service. - To assist in the management of their current environmental team, working with the Section Manager and technical directors as appropriate. - To carry out such additional duties as may reasonably be required. The successful candidate should have: - - BSc (hons) or equivalent degree in acoustics or other relevant discipline. - Institute of Acoustics Diploma in Acoustics. - Working knowledge with practical experience in the delivery of BS4142, BS5228, PPG24, CRTN environmental noise impact assessments for projects of various scales from small planning related schemes to major highways developments. - Experience and knowledge in the application and use of appropriate acoustic modelling software (such as SoundPlan or other equivalent modelling packages), with an ability to train and mentor junior members of staff in these areas. - Proven track record and experience of managing projects, including developing briefs, preparation of proposals, financial and technical governance and delivery of technical reports. - Expert Witness advice at Public Inquiry would be an advantage.
