ConvaTec, as one of the world’s most highly respected healthcare companies, is looking to appoint an experienced sales and marketing manager to assume responsibility for the operation in the whole of Ireland. Recognised for its development of innovative medical technologies to improve the lives of millions of people, the company has a global turnover of $2 billion with a highly ethical approach to all its activities.

The all Ireland operation is run from Dublin, with the Business Manager forming part of the UK and Ireland Leadership Team and reporting to the Vice President, who is based in England. The Ireland business has been growing steadily year on year and achieved sales of around $15m in 2008.

There is a team of 14 people with a mixture of area managers and senior sales people assisting the Business Manager in running the operation. There is a full-time administrator/marketer who reports to the Business Manager. Almost all sales are direct, although the company uses a distributor for one small part of the business.

Requirements:

• experienced in best practice sales systems i.e. metrics based
• 5+ years people management
• 5+ years experience in sales and/or marketing
• an excellent understanding of the health systems and payment/reimbursement systems in both NI and ROI (esp. ROI)
• have contacts/experience in dealing with purchasing people at both hospital level and above.
• Exposure to marketing and to local customer marketing strategy
• Working with a P&L
• Working in a complex matrix organisation
• Managing a highly visible strategic product, business or major project
• a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent

Candidates should reside in Ireland or be prepared to relocate to Ireland
