| Job Reference: VC21610T Technical Officer - Housing GBP 17-20 per hour Warwick Purpose of the Job: To carry out inspections of HMO's to ensure compliance with Housing Act 2004. Principal Accountabilities: 1. To carry out inspections of licensed HMO's to determine whether licence conditions have been met. 2. To carryout inspections of licensed HMO's to determine compliance with Management Regulations and Housing Health and Safety Rating System. 3. To identify works arising from HMO inspections and follow up by writing to landlords and managing agents, where need by use of available statutory powers. 4. To undertake inspections of HMO's to determine whether they fall under Mandatory HMO Licensing, and to follow up accordingly to ensure applications are submitted. 5. Where landlords and managing agents fail to comply with statutory requirements to assist in the preparation of legal proceedings as appropriate. 6. To input data using the Council's APP Civica (FLARE) system and Excel spreadsheets. 7. To liaise with landlords, managing and letting agents and tenants to ensure that HMO's are brought to the appropriate standard. 8. To assist generally in the inspection of non-licensable HMO's, to include buildings converted to self contained flats and those which are subject to the Council's Accreditation Scheme. 9.
