| Our client, a market leader in the space industry are looking for a Project Manager to provide the team with a vision and strategy for achieving the overall project goals Role Working within the Central Engineering group and reporting directly to the Operations Manager. Project Manager is required to drive new and existing challenging engineering projects through the full project life cycle. The candidate must have strong interpersonal skills and be capable of direct communication with external customers, external sub-contractors and senior management. Internal Rigorous application of Project Management processes Provide regular inputs to Operations Manager on project performance to ensure efficient management of all project functions. Liaise with functional groups in the company to obtain the necessary resources for timely project completion Support regular monthly project reviews with Operations Manager Support departmental growth through business development in key areas. External Be focal point with customer (including internal & external satellite Project Managers), and ensure facilitation of sub-contract process. Ensure project performance and customer satisfaction. Skills required for the job Ideally Honours degree or equivalent, with project management experience. Proven track record of project delivery. Full Project Management skill-set (including experience of contract / sub-contract management, cost, risk and schedule management). Proven ability to work on a number of inter related fields (including engineering, procurement, manufacture & test) Must be able to demonstrate successful leadership of multi-disciplined teams within a matrix management organisation. Provide clear direction to the team and prioritise work-flow. Experience of team building, decision making and target setting is required. Project Values Manage project values between 2M - 40M Manage a core team of 5-30 people Main Activities Build and maintain a positive relationship with the customer Co-ordinate strict control of the project cost and human resource levels, ensuring that the project milestones are achieved within the cost profiles, ensuring manpower resources are adequate, and reporting project schedule and costs on a monthly basis. Identify facility or resource limitations (including staff availability) preventing successful project completion and ensure resolution of the issues. Manage all aspects of the project on a day to day basis to ensure all technical, programme and cost issues are executed according to the company standards and customer satisfaction.
