My client a leading defence engineering company is looking to fill an extremely important role and is looking for an experienced individual to be the Head of Mechanical & Electrical Engineering. The Head of Mechanical & Electrical Engineering will be part of a new management team responsible for driving the engineering and technology vision and strategy to align with the business vision. The successful candidate will be expected to act as a change catalyst within the business driving functional and hence business excellence for mechanical engineering within the company.
The Head of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering will have total responsibility for the functional management of the mechanical and electrical design resource, process and quality of work produced within the specified functional area. Successful candidates will possess a desire to be challenged and to contribute towards the success and growth of the business.

Candidates must have a vast amount of experience within the Defence sector as well as significant experience as Lead Mechanical/Electrical Engineer on major projects. Other essential experience includes having a Degree in Scientific or Engineering discipline; Chartered Engineer. Desirable experience includes experience across the development and manufacturing life cycle resulting in the successful delivery of a mechanical system, as well as strong knowledge of Lean 6 Sigma techniques. Due to the nature of the work candidates must ideally be Security cleared to SC level and must be eligible for DV clearance.
