Must be clearable to SC.The Operations Control Department has a vacancy for a Bids Manager. The Department is part of the Operations Group who manufacture ground-based elements of satellite communications systems for the international defence markets. The Bids Manager is required to manage and co-ordinate all Operations bid activities and support the wider 3S Bid process, to provide cost effective solutions that meet the customer needs. Duties and responsibilities will include: Review the technical proposals with the engineering and commercial teams to understand system content, feasibility and requirements. Lead and coordinate activities between departments to establish product costs, manufacturing strategy, schedule and risks. Challenge the established model and seek lower cost solutions and strategies for legacy and new products. Establish and control bid budgets and schedule. Deliver proposal on time and to budget. Plan and conduct internal and customer progress reviews. Lead the tender vetting process in advance of submission to the customer. Be the process owner for order acceptance and review compliance to the bid. Define and implement strategy, policy and processes. Liaise closely with the R&D teams to understand new product development, feasibility, requirements and cost models. Contribute significantly to the overall business development strategy and internal improvement activities. Support the Operations group with project management of work packages and business development activities. Ensure that at all times the project is conducted in accordance with company policies, procedures and security aspects. |
