The successful candidate will take the lead in creating and maintaining project plans for new programmes and / or restructuring existing project plans following major change, including re-baselining. This role will report to the Project Planning Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

- Direct re-baseline activities,
- Ensure buy in to the project plans from all relevant stakeholders,
- Provide guidance to the project, ensuring consistent treatment of the project plans,
- Ensure that corporate planning requirements are adhered to,
- Ensure that the project plans are maintained as necessary to remain relevant,
- Deputise for the Planning Manager as required.

Role Requirements:

- Construct high level plans to satisfy the programme declared cardinal dates,
- Breakdown / partition the high level plans, as definition is made available, maintaining the declared key dates, to produce integrated lower level plans,
- Assign budget allocation to high or low level plans, as directed, via WBS (Work Breakdown Structure), Control Accounts and Work Packages,
- Ensure rapid response to problems / issues so that disruption to planned activities is minimised,
- Provide training and / or guidance to other team members and Detail Planners,
- Act for the Project Planning function at selected meetings and in house planning initiatives,
- Monitor the lower level plans within own programme, and challenge non compliances.

The successful candidate will:

- Have proven Project Planning skills,
- Ideally have a strong understanding of Project Management principles.
