Mechanical Engineer CAD FEA R&D

Description : We have an exciting opportunity with a high tech spin off company. They are well financed with an existing order book and international clients. They are looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to lead a small team as part of a major product development. You will be expected to have a high enough level of technical expertise to define system requirements in your own discipline and contribute to product requirements. The role covers new product development and post development support within R&D. You will have a good first degree in mechanical engineering and ideally be a chartered engineer You will have 10 years minimum experience in a related area and typically 5+ years in a senior engineering role You will have knowledge and experience of some or all of the following areas: 1, Mechanical system design – 3D CAD, FEA, motion systems, precision engineering 2, Product development tools 3, Motor design and drive systems, bearings, rails, and mounting methods 4, Fluid systems, pumps, control, level sensing & thermal control 5, Structural designs, castings, machined parts 6, Problem solving techniques through analytical methods 7, Design for manufacture and assembly techniques 8, Design for service and support for field replaceable units 9, Development of alignment tools, jigs, fixtures and processes for manufacturing 10, Experience of product development from concept through to manufacture. 11, Production of high quality technical reports
