BASIC FUNCTION Coordinate process assessment, control, and continuous improvement in the manufacturing area as well as any related support systems assigned to you, with emphasis on operations management and structured problem solving. Drive KOS deployment in your area through training and participation in robust process improvement methods, process standardization, and the development of use of quality systems and tools.SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES 1.Identify and coordinate quality and process improvement initiatives in your area to assure that product, processes, and systems are all being reviewed, assessed, and improved. Use and assure the use of yield information, variability reduction, and process control systems. Mentor and train junior technical and operations personnel. Initiate and coordinate process improvement plans based on quality, cost, delivery, safety, and morale metrics. Apply data driven process improvements using the Kohler 6-Step problem solving methods and any other statistic or non-statistic tools applicable. Assist in equipment selection, workshops, and product/process introduction as needed. 2.Actively coordinate and be responsible for the implementation and maintenance of KOS in your area. Learn, understand, and use the techniques and tools that make up the KOS. Work toward "green belt" certification to demonstrate mastery of the tools, including Kaizen, set-up reduction, Lean Manufacturing, etc. Participate and lead KOS workshops in your area as directed. 3.Assist in developing, deploying, and standardizing divisional quality systems. Participate in the deployment, administration and auditing of all ISO 9000 systems used in manufacturing and support areas. Continuously strive to improve existing manufacturing and support systems to facilitate better performance in areas of quality, cost, delivery, safety, and morale.
