This is an opportunity to work as part of a nationwide organisation involved with working with children that have special developmental needs, their families and carers. Another very important aspect of the position is liaising with staff, consultants and managers within the organisation, as well as education agencies, intervention services and referral services outside the organisation. Responsibilities: · Assist in the establishment of profession specific quality standards and participation in setting and monitoring transdisciplinary standards for assessment and intervention. * Regular monitoring and review of the service. · Staff development. · To assist in the development of policies, procedures and planning. · To advise the Management of future service requirements/developments. · To promote work practices that support the development of young children with communication delays. · To liaise closely with colleagues within Education and Community Services. · Participation in regular team meetings. · Responsible for the development and maintenance of appropriate resources for other colleagues and parents, i.e. information, training, literature, resources etc. * Day to day management of individual caseload including assessment and intervention. * Liaise closely with the Clinical Team Leader * To be an active member of the Transdisciplinary Assessment Team. * Participation in Transdisciplinary Play-based Assessments and interventions. * Participation in joint assessment where appropriate. * Planning interventions both individually and transdisciplinary. * Work in partnership with parents/carers of the children receiving services. * Maintaining correct up to date legally viable child/family records. * Attendance at/reporting to family and child review meetings, placement meetings, etc. as appropriate. * Establishment and development of liaison with appropriate organisations, voluntary agencies etc. · Development of and participation in training activities for colleagues in Speech and Language Therapy, other disciplines and carers/families. * Maintain awareness of professional literature, current developments in Paediatric Speech and Language Therapy practice through self-education, training and profession |
