As an Accountant your job purpose is to Manage the Accounts function for this company and Group company.

You report directly to the Managing director and duties include:
* Maintaining purchase Ledger, Sales ledger and nominal ledger
* Responsibility for petty cash and cash book in Sterling and US dollars
* Responsibility for Treasury function including Treasury Deposits and foreign currency transactions.
* Preparing Month and year end accounts to trial balance stage including calculating accruals and prepayments and dealing with Auditors.
* Monthly VAT returns.
* Liaising with Sales, Purchasing, Production, Laboratory and Engineering Departments.
* Review expense claims with supporting information and preparation of P11D forms.
* Assist with information for processing monthly salaries, particularly overtime schedules and sickness.
* Providing cover for department sickness and holidays.
* Preparing debtors lists monthly for Sales Department.
* Supervision of two staff.
* Undertaking such duties as may reasonably be required by the company from time to time.

Candidate Specification:

ESSENTIAL:
* AAT qualified or equivalent or in the latter stages of studying with solid experience.
* Experience in managing all aspects of an Accounts function
* Strong experience in VAT
* Sound communication skills
* Strong Systems experience (you may be required to change processes to improve them)

PREFERABLE:
* Experience in Management Accounting
* Change Management Experience
* Experience in Managing a small Team

The starting salary for this position is up to 25K per annum
