Applicants will need previous experience in the areas of aircraft load control and aeroelastics. They should also have an ability to apply numerical analysis tools (including CFD and aircraft loads model), interpret results and develop engineering solutions. They shall support the development of methods to allow EADS BUs to assess the performance impact of load control on their products. They may be required lead tasks in multi-partner projects, and support the development of strategic relationships with BUs Research Establishments and Academia. THE ROLE The Aeromechanics Department within TCC3 has a responsibility to assess the potential benefit of air-vehicle load control technologies. Aircraft performance improvement / weigh reduction by the application active flow control for load control is seen a key enabler to meet environmental targets for civil transport aircraft. In order to fulfil this role a position of Research Engineer for Load Control has been created. The holder of this role is required to interface with academic and research organisations in the multidisciplinary area of load control as well as well as understanding the engineering requirements and constraints of the BUs. They must have the capability to manage and undertake demonstrations of the most promising solutions through simulation or testing on realistic industry problems.
