To undertake family finding for specific children in accordance with permanency policy. 2. To provide support to birth parents pre and post placement. 3. To recruit, train and assess prospective adopters in accordance with regulations and standards. To support them pre and post placement. 4. To write and present reports to the Adoption and Permanency Panel, Court and other forums. 5. To be involved in the development of policies, procedures and practices in relation to Adoption and Permanency. 6. To attend and contribute at Court, planning meetings and reviews on specific children. 7. To act as professional adviser on the Adoption and Permanency Panel in the absence of the Manager. 8. To maintain accurate and up to date records in accordance with the Departmental Policy on Recording. This will include both paper and electronic records. 9. To ensure that clients are given the necessary advice and support to make use of the Departments Customer comments and Complaints Procedure. 10. To work collaboratively with colleagues within the local authority and from other statutory and independent agencies. 11. To work as a member of a team and act as duty social worker on a rota basis and as required by the Service Manager. 12. To undertake responsibilities within the framework of anti-discriminatory practice and in line with the Departmental Equal Opportunities and Whistle blowing policies. 15. To undertake all duties and interactions with employees, partner providers and customers fairly, without unlawful discrimination and with due regard to the Council's Diversity & Equality in Employment and Service Delivery policies. 16. To ensure that all legislation and local Council policies regarding Health and Safety are adhered to. 17. To keep abreast of all legislation guidance and standards relating to the area of work and undertake specialist training to extend professional knowledge. 18. To accept and make use of supervision, appraisal and training in accordance with departmental codes of practice.
