A large and successful private training provider is looking to recruit 2 x Flexible new deal managers for their employability programmes at their Margate and Maidstone offices. The purpose of the role is to manage, develop and co-ordinate the delivery of Training activities within Kent, in order to ensure the delivery of high quality training and to achieve defined financial and other performance targets.

Main responsibilities:

- Manage DWP contracts to ensure that the standard of training meets the requirements of the organisation, participants and contractors

- Develop, update and manage a local strategic plan

- Identify new sources of work and potential funding and income generation opportunities and develop proposals, bids and new work in consultation with the Operations Manager

- Management and motivation of the staff team, including recruitment, induction, supervision, training and development, performance appraisal and application of employment policies

- Manage the Centre budgets (costing of bids for / expenditure, assessing anticipated income, managing expenditure and ensuring financial targets are met)

- Develop and foster local contracts with industry, the community and external bodies to raise and promote profile. Identify opportunities for collaborative or partnership working

Person Specification

- Experience of managing provision in the Welfare to work field

- Experience of staff management with financial or budgetary management experience

- Knowledge of employment training and education provision, funding bodies and requirements

- Experience of working with people from socially or economically disadvantaged backgrounds would be an advantage

- 24,000 - 27,600
