| My client is a group of Manchester based Independent Hospitals and specialist Care Homes. In line with the increase of its units at two of its hospitals an experienced Mental Health Nurse / Learning Disability Nurse is required to join these multidisciplinary teams as Deputy Manager / Clinical Nurse Manager. The hospital located in Didsbury, South Manchester offers a new locked facility service for both male and females with enduring mental illness. There is a prime focus on rehabilitation and the promotion of independence.
The specialist independent hospital based in Longsight, Manchester provides a rehabilitation service in a low secure setting. This is a ground breaking hospital which is soon to change to a locked facility - the first of its kind to offer an enhanced support service for people with learning disabilities. The hospital provides support to adult males with mild to moderate learning disabilities.
Responsibilities:
- reporting to the General Manager you will form part of the management structure providing clinical leadership to the nursing team whilst taking a lead role in maintaining quality standards and in practice development - head a team of nurses and support workers, working closely with all members of the team in the development, implementation and evaluation of practice development initiatives whilst establishing and promoting a positive learning environment for all staff - act as a source of clinical expertise and enhance nursing practice - ensure that all the requirements of the mental health act and national standards legislation is met - participate in the recruitment, selection and induction of staff as required in addition to thorough induction programme for all new starters The person:
In addition to being suitably qualified (RMN or RNLD), you will possess a broad nursing and medical knowledge. You will have clear leadership abilities. You will remain calm under pressure and have strong communication skills. This is an oustanding opportunity to join a ground breaking hospital. The role is demanding but highly rewarding and you will attract an hourly rate of 12.50 - 15 dependent upon experience.
