Head of Risk

Description : Head of Risk
Asia/Pac role
Prop Trading
$Very neg You will work with the executive team to develop and implement strategies to identify and control market, positional, operational and counterparty risks. The successful candidate will establish and maintain strategies to assist with the consistent measurement, reporting and control of risk associated with a large scale, global derivatives trading operation. Key Responsibilities:
Measuring and reporting market risk
Validation of positions, valuations, models, parameters, trading systems and tools, MTM and trade reporting
Surveillance of operations, daily reporting, position changes, trading patterns etc
PL validation working with finance as independent verifier of positions, values and PL
Validation of PL reserving, theoretical differences etc (ie validating our value of book versus Fortis's and the reason for differences)
Daily reporting of management of exposure, patterns, risk etc
Development of processes, methodology as desk grows
New Market/Product projects- setting up risk systems for expansion into new areas
Capital and credit usage analysis
Formulation (along with global management) of limits, policies, stress testing, quantitative systems (in-house/external)Experience & Qualifications:
Experience with large trading firm or bank prop team in a prop environment, must have dealt with prop trading positions (own capital at risk rather than client money).
Ideally a former trader who's transitioned into risk management
Ability and willingness to step in and unwind a trader
Thorough experience with equity derivatives in Australia and Asia
Exposure to Fixed Income and commodities
Thorough knowledge of option theory, Greeks, equity markets, scenario analysis
Knowledge of Exchange margining systems and analysis
Ability to assist building and testing of systems and processes in addition to implement
