A secondary school based in the Lewisham borough are seeking to appoint an SEN teacher to work 1-2-1 with a pupil who is dyslexic.

The successful candidate must have a Level 5 Dyslexia qualification. The school specialises in Humanities, with English, Citizenship and Drama as our specialist subjects. The school has a national reputation for their Citizenship innovations and an emphasis on developing the students' voice pervades all aspects of school life. The student council plays an active role in the life of the school and students are trained as peer mediators and actively support harmonious relationships in all areas of the school.

There are purpose built facilities for Drama on both the Lower and Upper School sites and excellence in English means that the school have a linguistically rich curriculum. They also develop good practice throughout the curriculum, particularly in cross-curricular literacy. The central aim of the Humanities specialism is to nurture articulate students who are able to think critically, learn independently and express their opinions clearly. Therefore, students have a real sense of involvement and agency, and their loyalty to the school reflects this.
