Power Management Analog IC Designer - Wiltshire / West Lothian
Description :
Analog IC Designer - Wiltshire / West Lothian Track record delivering chips into production Applications - power management (DCDC regulator, LDO regulator) for mobile phone, PDAs, laptops and desktop PCs. Possibly low power RF transceivers (LNA, mixer, active filter, ADC/DAC) for low data rate remote activation Processes - 0.25 to 0.5um CMOS and BiCmos (internal processes) Needs working knowledge of issues like current limit protection, ESD, latchup, IC layout. Must have real IC design and layout experience. Analog IC designer duties: - read and understand competitive datasheets for power mgmt ICs like LDO and DCDC - analyse the IC using behavioral simulation (Matlab, Mathcad, Pspice, Cadence) - break the system design down into block level descriptions with key block specs and interface lines - transistor level design of the block and analysis of simulation results (analog simulators are Cadence and Pspice) - understand circuit theory for things like gain, phase, poles and zeroes, compensation, opamp design, logic design, output drivers. - document result and communicate them in a clear and concise manner so design can be reviewed by others - work with other team members to integrate blocks to create the top level chip design
