Position: Assistant Manager
Location: Buntingford, Hertfordshire
Salary: 14-16K

CLIENT:
Our client is a well know national food retailer.

ROLE:
To assume responsibility and accountability for the delivery of the retail offer to all their customers that exceeds their expectations, through consistent availability, level of fill within a clean appealing environment and created by a motivated, effective and efficient team of employees.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
a) To operate as an active member of the management team and support the Store Manager and other Assistant Managers as required.
b) To provide and maintain excellent customer service standards within all departments, not just designated department.
c) To ensure that the due diligence, Company policies, procedures and guidelines for all areas are fully maintained and up to date at all times.
d) To seek proactive ways to improve departmental standards through the analysis of external competition and local requirements.
e) To manage, develop and motivate a given team and to take responsibility for the development and general performance management of individuals.
f) To ensure the customer offer is delivered throughout the trading day, through effective stock and order adherence and team scheduling.
g) To ensure all new employees are correctly recruited, inducted and effectively trained at all times.
h) To effectively manage shifts and deputise for Store Manager during days off or other leave.
i) To carryout other duties as and when directed.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
a) 2 years experience working in a retail environment (preferably in food).
b) Supervisory experience within a food retail environment.
c) A proven track record of effective customer service.
d) PC literate.
e) A good level of verbal and numerical reasoning – to GCSE/O level standard or equivalent.
f) Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
