Our client is looking for a capable and analytical Software Test Engineer.

Main Duties & Responsibilities
• Plan and conduct the verification and validation of our client’s Products (likely to be multiple products in development at any one time)
• Design, prepare and maintain robust test plans from software specifications
• Develop and automate test cases using VBScript / javascript, perl, C++, C#
• Execute tests and compile and report results
• Performing such other activities as may be required by the Head of Development.

Skills & Abilities
• Ability to plan and conduct verification and validation activities of complex software products in a structured development environment
• Ability to plan and conduct functional, non-functional and regression testing
• Ability to design effective test plans
• Ability to develop test cases and automate using a variety of programming languages
• Thorough knowledge of structured test methods and processes
• Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with technical and product development teams.
• Familiarity with a number of programming languages (VBScript, javascript, perl, C++, C#).
• Ability to lead other team members and influence peers / management as required.

Experience
Essential
• Good degree in a numerate subject
• ISTQB Advanced Certificate or ISEB Practitioner in software testing
• Have worked in one or more positions as a software test engineer.
• Proven experience in production of test plans and test cases
Desirable
• Experience of testing scientific software
• Experience of using AutomatedQA TestComplete
• Experience of WPF UI testing
• Web / database load testing
