| Our client is seeking an experienced HR Assistant to work in their head office, the role will support a multi site operation. The role will be a real mix of advisory work, administration and will offer a varied and exciting environment for an HR professional to work in. Reporting directly into the Compliance Director you will assist in taking some of the load away from the Director on the generalist tasks in the department. Specifically, you will prepare disciplinary cases, handle sickness and prepare disciplinary cases, handle sickness and absence management and update and manage policies and procedures. Whilst the role will clearly involve a large element of HR advisory work, it is also important that you are a strong administrator. In terms of other skills, you will be strong on IT systems and will ideally have at least 2 years experience in a similar role or hold or be working towards an HR qualification. Confidence and good organisational skills are also important as is a flexible approach to your work. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: * To assist the HR Advisor in providing advice on the companies HR policies and procedures. * To plan and ensure the completion of all HR administration tasks * Ensure that all aspects of HR operational administration are delivered to a professional and effective standard . * Maintain all manual HR records with daily/weekly filing to keep up to date * Ensure that all HR correspondence is completed in a timely fashion including: References/Dismissals/Tribunals/Ad-hoc letters, process and file accordingly * Prepare any reports that may be needed by members of the management team * Collect and maintain data to enable trend analysis * To plan and complete ad hoc projects. * Any other duties to cover the smooth running of the department. OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE: * At least 2-3 years experience in a similar role/environment * Experience of handling Grievance/Disciplinary/Tribunals is essesntial * Magistrates/County Court experience is highly desirable * Holder of or working towards a professional relevant qualification is desirable though not essential * You will need to be confident in fulfilling this role without the need for extensive training * Strong knowledge of HR disciplines. * Be patient, tactful, diplomatic and approachable * Have good communication skills * Be confident about gathering facts and statistics * Respect the importance of confidentiality * Have good organising skills * Have good problem solving skills * Be able to work as part of a team * Be able to work accurately, with good attention to detail * Be able to use databases, spreadsheets, word processing and accounts packages.
