| We are currently looking for a Clinical Laboratory Manager to work for a leading clinical research company based in Cambridgeshire. PURPOSE OF THE ROLE To coordinate the activities of the Clinical and Biomarker Laboratories, ensuring the provision of necessary technical, clinical and practical support to all agreed needs and timelines. To maintain the quality of service provided by the Clinical Science Department. To represent and promote the Clinical Science Department as appropriate. To further the services the Clinical Science Department is able to offer in the future. KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES Take overall functional responsibility for the activities of the Clinical and Biomarker Laboratories, ensuring quality of the service provided and that the needs and requirements of service users are met To ensure that there are appropriate numbers of staff with the required education, training and competence to provide a service that meets the needs and requirements of the users Chair regular functional organisational meetings, as leader of the Clinical Science Team. Plan and ensure optimum bioanalytical provision of Clinical Research support. Liaise with the Biomarker lab and Clinical lab staff in order to discuss technical issues, method validation/transfer and resource issues, as necessary. Represent the Clinical Science Function in Clinical Operations meetings, as required. Address complaints, requests or suggestions from staff and/or users of the service EDUCATION/PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE: Educated to at least degree level, in a scientific discipline. At least 5 years experience in a clinical laboratory. Specialist training in a relevant field advantageous. Management experience. SKILLS & COMPETENCIES: Proven organisational and administrative skills. Well-developed communication, presentation and leadership skills. An ability to communicate clearly and concisely with colleagues and external contacts. An innovative approach, open to new ideas and able to adopt protocols, procedures and management initiatives. Experienced performing laboratory assays to agreed standards.
