Control Systems - SYSTEM VERIFICATION ENGINEER Business overview This is an opportunity to join the Systems Verification function within Control Systems. The group is organised into project teams which support all new and legacy Civil Aerospace engine types. Each team is responsible for the process of determining whether or not the system, as designed, meets the requirements of the customer and performs in the manner intended. This is carried out through the methodical assessment and allocation of requirements to tests or analysis methods, and the performance and review of the subsequent results. A significant component of the work involves the use of a complex "hardware in loop" test facility; this is a key company asset that allows the functional behaviour of the FADEC control system to be investigated under realistic engine and aircraft conditions.
Job specification
The successful candidate will be responsible for the verification of one or more specific functions of the engine control and health monitoring systems for aerospace gas turbines. Key accountabilities include:
âx0080;¢ Verification of software to support product release for engine test, flight trials and entry into service. âx0080;¢ Technical planning and coordination âx0080;¢ Delivery of project work to time, cost and quality âx0080;¢ Demonstration of technical and process compliance âx0080;¢ Contribution to lessons learnt methodology and continuous process improvement The individual will be required to work alongside Systems, Software and Component Engineers within an integrated project team at all stages of the product lifecycle. Opportunities to interface with external organisations, customers and suppliers are highly likely.
Person specification The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant engineering or scientific discipline. Excellent interpersonal skills are required along with the ability to build relationships at all levels. The successful candidate will demonstrate high levels of integrity and commitment.
