| Operations Manager - Glasgow - Circa 50,000. We are looking for an operations manager to lead our clients Safety and Onboard Training team. The successful candidate will be a class 1 Master Mariner or Chief Engineer, or have a technical customer services background. The position will require an experienced candidate to lead the operational safety team in worldwide in-service vessel inspection and training support and previous ISO and ISM work is a must. Candidates should have experience in ISO and ISM Auditing, and Oil Major Vetting Inspections is preferred, as well as a working knowledge of statutory requirements, regulations and marine codes of practice. Good communications and IT skills and an ability to interact with clients and colleagues comfortably is required, as well as being well organised with a systematic working style. The Operations Manager, is responsible for the performance of the Operational Safety department as dictated by the overall strategy, and reports to the Managing Director.
Main Responsibilities
- The formulation and successful implementation of company policy relating to the provision of Safety Inspections, Audit, Training and Ship's Security Services
- Directing strategy towards the profitable growth and operation of the services provided, and developing strategic business plans that reflect the long term objectives and priorities - Putting in place adequate operational planning and financial control systems and closely monitoring the operational and financial results against budget - Meeting with Clients periodically and maintaining a transparent working relationship - Take remedial action where necessary and inform the Managing Director of significant changes - Maintaining or improving the operational performance of the company against agreed KPI's - Assume full responsibility and accountability for all company operations relating to the provision of Safety Inspections, Audit, Training and Ship's Security Services - Building and maintaining an effective team to deliver the services - To perform other tasks as directed by the line manager To apply for this position, candidates must be eligible to live and work in the UK and Europe.
