The Purchasing Team Leader will be responsible for leading, training, motivating and inspiring a large team of Procurement Administrators. The Purchasing Team Leader will also be required to analyse, streamline, and improve current procurement and supply chain processes. Additional duties of the Purchasing Team Leader include:

1. Ensure all Purchase Orders are raised in a timely manner within the agreed SLA.

2. Producing Material/Plant reports for responsive contracts on a weekly basis.

3. The recording and the distribution of small order pads to site.

4. To assist the Central Purchasing Manager with new supplier set up forms. To evaluate the requirement and check existing supply chain, negotiating payment terms and ensure the Vendor Management Programme (VMP) is completed.

5. To assist the Central Purchasing Manger with the resolution of account issues to ensure the supply of materials to site.

6. To assist the Central Purchasing Manager supporting sites with order processing procedures.

7. To assist the Central Purchasing Manager with the evaluation of requisitions from site to achieve better processes i.e. bulk orders to reduce the number of repetitive requests received.

8. To assist the Central Purchasing Manager with regular supplier meeting re order process, turn around of quotations etc.

9. Supporting new and existing sites and advising which suppliers geographically are suited to the contract requirements.

10. To assist the Regional Purchasing Managers with Bid pricing.

11. Will be responsible for a number of low spend commodities to ensure the necessary agreements are in place

Prospective Purchasing Team Leaders must possess significant procurement experience within the construction industry, and be accustomed to managing and leading teams. An enthusiastic and dynamic character would be ideal. Additionally applicants to the Purchasing Team Leader role, should have a strong knowledge and understanding of the COINS purchasing system.
