The successful candidate will be responsible for aspects of hardware development as well as verification and validation and regulatory compliance.

The role will consist of 3 main elements and offers scope for real expansion of an individuals skills going forward and opportunities for progression within a growing company. This should also be viewed as an exciting opportunity to work with new technologies and play a key role in influencing the development of their product going forward.

Firstly the role will include liaising with team members, contractors and suppliers in the development of different aspects of product design such as selection of modules or components, evaluating designs or developing requirements specifications for subcontractors to work to. This aspect of the role could account for 20-50% of the role and some experience in a similar role is deemed essential

Secondly, the role will support the RA&OM in the planning, preparation and execution of V&V plans. Areas of testing will include EMC, electrical/mechanical safety and environmental. Although it is not an out and out testing role the expectations is that you will have had some exposure to this form of approvals either in-house or via a 3rd party.

Thirdly, the position will support the RA&OM in a range of activities including: CAPA investigation, device listing and registration and risk assessment. It is expected that over time the successful applicant will grow the role so that they will be able to take ownership of a number of these areas however it is essential that individuals have strong written english skills to complete this work.

Essential Qualifications / Experience

-The successful candidate will be expected to have an HND or degree in a relevant subject such as Electronics or Micro-Electronics.

-The candidate will have hands-on experience of standards (such as IEC, EN, UL, MIL or DEF) in the areas of EMC, electrical safety or environmental performance.

-He/she will have a demonstrable track record of developing and delivering significant written reports to an extremely high standard.

-The candidate will be expected to have experience in a similar role and experience of electronic hardware design, test and certification is a must.

-Thorough knowledge of hardware development procedures and methodologies, with particular emphasis on regulatory implications, troubleshooting, test and failure analysis

It is not deemed essential that candidates have experience in all aspects of the role and candidates with a strong knowledge in one area with exposure to the others will be considered.
