Our client is currently seeking to expand its Combat Systems Engineering team.

Main Duties and Responsibilities Include:

* Demonstrate knowledge of command and control, communications, sensors and weapon systems and their interaction within a naval environment.

* To assist with the preparation of Ship Combat Systems specifications for bid purposes and the implementation of the specifications for the purposes of a ship build contract

* Detailed system design including technical negotiations with equipment and systems suppliers concerning:

o Interface specifications

o Generation of overall system performance parameters

o Coordination of the Setting to Work and Trials activities

Role Requirements:

* To support the Combat System Design team in other activities when required. These activities may cover the whole life cycle of a project.

* The position will include some overseas travel and may also require some work to be managed in Bristol, Glasgow or other locations in the UK.

The Successful Candidate will:

* Ideally educated to degree or equivalent standard

* Have previous experience in the combat systems on surface warships and ideally have knowledge of systems presently deployed at sea by both the Royal Navy and other overseas navies.

* Be will be able to communicate effectively as part of a multi disciplined team, with their team members and customers.

* Be self-motivated

* Be able to demonstrate good presentation skills

* Have a working knowledge of Microsoft packages such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
