Our client is a leading worldwide distributor of electrical parts and supplies.

They are currently looking to recruit a Financial Accountant to join them based at their Head Office in Birmingham.

The main purpose of this role is to provide financial accounting support for their businesses in the UK which includes taking responsibility for the entries on the general ledger including reconciliations and completing detailed reviews of the profit and loss account on the company accounting system. You will be responsible for the population of the month end reporting package, the provision of support and information to the business and the preparation of the main operating business’s margin figures.

A strong, practical understanding and experience of basic accounting functions and how they all come together is essential. This should include: profit and loss accounts, balance sheets, cash flow statements and reconciliations. Your accounting experience must be combined with a high level of practical Excel knowledge and the ability to manipulate data. This should include the ability to produce and use spreadsheets including formulae.

You must have proven hands-on accounting experience including experience of double entry book keeping, associated accounting controls and procedures and experience of a variety of accounting software packages.

You must have excellent interpersonal skills, be self motivated, well organised and able to respond to challenging deadlines and changing priorities.
