| We are looking for a highly capable software manager to lead the tactical man management for a successful defence company. Candidates must have full LC software experience and have managed large teams of engineers. This is an opportunity to play a key role for a large defence company, managing the tactical activity for electronic warfare projects. Due to the sensitive nature of this area all candidates must be capable of gaining full UK security clearance.
You will have an exceptional record with managing technical engineers, be able to mentor team leaders, allocate resources, deal with performance isues and staff reviews and act as a technical trouble shooter. Candidates must come from a full lifecycle software engineering background and should have experience from an industry where emphasis is placed on high quality - Aerospace, Automotive, Defence, Medical, etc. You will report in to the Head of Software and will be a key person for the ultimate success of the projects.
Candidates should have the following skills, experience and attributes:
Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, able to motivate and encourage, as well as deal with conflict and confrontation. Ability to manage personnel, project and functional issues. Good understanding of software engineering technical issues. Thorough understanding of the engineering lifecycle and the company practices for projects. Experience with object oriented and real time embedded software will be highly desirable.
Experience: Managing and organising resources; people, funds and equipment. Managing projects and associated budgets including analysis and projections. Proven ability to lead, manage and support a team.
Personal Attributes: Excellent communication skill, team player with the ability to work with and influence others. You should have drive and commitment, with a resilient nature, and maintain high standards at all times.
