Working in conjunction with the NHS within Primary Care, this organisation operates a number of GP surgeries and walk-in Centre across the UK, providing free services to all. As infection control specialist you will be based from Home providing professional advice, support and leadership to promote the attainment of the highest standards in the prevention and control of healthcare and care associated infection within all Primary Care Division sites.You will have the authority to challenge inappropriate clinical hygiene practice, and will be responsible for the development and implementation of strategy, policies and plans for the infection prevention and control service, across the organisation. To qualify for this role you must have the following skills and qualifications: • NMC Registered Nurse • Evidence of personal and professional development • Evidence of infection control study at level 3 – degree or graduate diploma • Previous experience in an infection control role • Knowledge of evidence based practice and audit techniques • Able to demonstrate highly developed specialist knowledge of infection prevention and control • Knowledge of creating systems and processes to ensure best professional practice and compliance and monitoring such processes • Knowledge of research and audit including implementation of findings and review of outcomes The Role will be Home based with national travel, Permanent, Part time (19hrs per week) and a salary of 40,000 pro rata for part time, 25 days holiday, Pension and 4000 car allowance.
