My Client, based in Newcastle upon Tyne, is a growing organisation with a fantastic reputation for engaging disadvantaged young people and developing their skills in an innovative and measurable way, which is being supported by high profile individuals all over the UK. Sharpe Recruitment is currently assisting them in the search for an Operations Manager to cover 6 months maternity leave. PURPOSE OF ROLE: - To lead the continued development of the organisation's existing services for Licensees, Facilitators and Young people in line with the organisational strategy - To provide accurate financial and management information for the Chief Executive, Board of Directors, funders and partners - To assure quality and continuous improvement across the whole organization RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: - Responsibility for overall internal efficiency and effectiveness of the processes, systems and budget expenditure. - Direct the Operations Officer to ensure that the organisation's policies, procedures and legal requirements are up to date with current legislation and are fully implemented within the organisation. Particular focus must be paid to data protection, health and safety, safeguarding young people and equal opportunities. - Take the lead on the maintenance of the I.T infrastructure to manage all dataflow through the organisation and ensure the annual audit runs smoothly. - Responsibility for ensuring the accuracy, quantity and relevance of content on the website. - Budget ownership including control of income and expenditure in agreed areas. - Line management of the Operations Officer, Training & Development Worker, Client Services Manager & Administrator. - Management of the following outsourced suppliers: Financial Services Provider, I.T Support Supplier, Database developer, Website hosts. - Manage the implementation of the Training and Development Strategy, ensuring all facilitators, development workers and young people are trained, fully supported and are meeting the organisation's quality standards. - Implement the communications strategy, which may include internal reviews, attending networking events, ensuring all materials and literature comply with Branding Guidelines and that the organisation distributes regular newsletters, updates and information to its network of facilitators and licensees SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: - Demonstrable leadership and change management skills - Highly developed organisational skills - Knowledge of I.T infrastructure and process improvements - Experience of using management information / quality tools such as Balanced Scorecard - Knowledge and experience of managing financial accounts - Experience of staff recruitment, line management and development - Experience of effective project management - Experience of departmental budget management - Knowledge of organisational legal requirements - Experience of working at a strategic and practical level. |
