As part of the Technology Solutions department, the main purpose of this role is the design of the infrastructure that will integrate across the business. You will deliver and maintain a technical roadmap in line with the business strategy to ensure requirements are met. You will develop a team of highly skilled Server, Network and Desktop specialists (including Technical Architects) so your ability to communicate not only with the team but also with the business as a whole is crucial.

You will have a very strong technical background and your career path is likely to have seen you go from being a Network Designer, Infrastructure Project Manager and Technical Architect where you will have then moved on to being an Enterprise Architect where you will also have management responsibility for Network Designers and Technical Architects.

*We will also consider a strong Technical Architect who matches all of the other skills and who is looking to move into an Enterprise Level Architect role and may already be carrying out the job, but without the title or recognition *

The successful candidate will be the overall design authority for an 8000 user Network, will manage the team of Technical Architects (currently 4), will ensure consistency across the business and will upskill the team to meet business needs. The technical environment is predominantly Microsoft (Windows Server 2008, MS Exchange) with other technologies such as SAN, VMWare, Cisco, HP etc. The role is paying circa 50k - 65k + an excellent flexible benefits package, is based in Bristol with regular travel to other sites around the UK.

Due to the nature of the business you will either need to hold current SC level Security Clearance or be able / willing to undergo Security Clearance. The role will involve 2/3 days travel a week to other sites around the UK.
