| We currently have an immediate requirement for a Lead Controls Engineer to work for a multi-national company, within their Power Division. SUMMARY OF ROLE Provide technical leadership and customer technical interface in the delivery of complex products and services which require integration of project team efforts across multi-functional areas SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES * Lead, coordinate and integrate the activities of Engineering Project Execution Team. The team may consist of our client's internal engineers, vendors, suppliers or customer personnel * Serve as main customer contact for project technical scope, take responsibility for compliant, high quality engineering solutions delivered to customer * Develop overall control strategy for projects according the project requirements and coordinate conceptual design reviews * Assume the main role for detailed functional design, Ovation configuration design, BOM and documentation approval * Define the standard project definition and ensure that the standards are utilised for project execution * Lead hardware and software FAT, customer approval and system handover process * Identify, analyse and resolve significant commercial and technical issues related to executed projects * Assist in the preparation of project related commercial documents * Prepare enquires and protocols related to vendors and suppliers * Perform engineering analysis and propose solutions to complex problems which are not well defined * Verify the work of other engineers on assignments that range from basic to complex in nature * Follow guidelines as established in the Quality Manuals and Procedures * Play an integral role in meeting projects financial objectives. * Conduct business while strictly observing the Business Ethics of our client * Assist in investigation and resolution of system related customer technical complaints.Take ownership and resolve and/or recommend solutions to these complaints * Be proactive in the provision of customer support * Provide assistance to field engineering and field installation personnel during the site start up and commissioning phase, both remotely from office and on customer site REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS * Degree qualified in Electrical, Electronic, Process or Control engineering, or have substantial and demonstrable relevant experience * Significant experience in industrial plant automation, DCS, PLC and Field Instrumentation * Familiarity with the Process Automation & Control Industry is a MUST * Power Generation and/or Management experience is a MUST * Must be able to generate immediate credibility with customer, suppliers and EPM engineering communities * Willing to travel for more than 25-30 % of the time * Fluent English * Self-motivated and innovative * Excellent interpersonal skills To apply for this position, candidates must be eligible to live and work in the UK Matchtec |
