Degree qualified, and with relevant experience, the successful applicant will be involved in the preparation and control of the highways maintenance budget, advise on compliance with appropriate technical and safety standards for all works on the public highway, direct the work of two senior inspectors when they act in their capacity as clerks of works, direct the work of three highway inspectors when they act in relation to works on the highway, supervision of a highway technician as and when applicable and to participate in the assessment of the maintenance requirement and the preparation of the highways maintenance budgets, and to prioritise, organise and control highway structural maintenance works and minor improvements carried out by contractors.

The role is anticipated to last a minimum of 3 months.
