Position Overview:
The primary responsibility of the Central Plant Engineer is to operate and maintain property machinery, HVAC and mechanical equipment property-wide.
All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian Resort’s policies, practices, and procedures. This is a safety related-position.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
-Operates and maintains:

-Domestic water system.
-Chilled water supply system.
-Complete heating and ventilation.
-High- and low-pressure chillers and associated equipment.
-Operates and maintains centrifugal and multi-stage pumps up to 500hp.
-Operates and maintains cooling towers and all associated equipment.
-Open and closed loop water treatment and biocide control systems.
-Boilers and high-pressure steam systems.
-Diesel generators, switchgear and fuel transfer systems.
-Troubleshoots complex maintenance problems and develops creative solutions.
-Performs maintenance duties as necessary.
-Researches and evaluates new maintenance products and procedures. Orders supplies as needed.
-Safety is an essential function of this job.

Minimum Qualifications:
-21 years of age.
-Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.
-High school diploma or equivalent.
-Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Nevada Driver’s License and any other certification or license, as required by law or policy.
-5 years of experience in electrical, plumbing, air conditioning and heating appliances required.
-Working knowledge in HVAC, plumbing, using hand tools, electrical, refrigerator, air conditioning and heating equipment.
-Must possess personal computer and data entry skills.
-Must be able to touch and handle supplies in a safe and non-hazardous manner, maintaining proper hygiene, cleanliness, and disposal methods.
-Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both in spoken and written form.
-Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and other Team Members of different backgrounds and levels of experience.
-Must be able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.

-Lift or carry 50 pounds, unassisted, in the performance of specific tasks, as assigned.
-Physically access all areas of the property and drive areas with or without a reasonable accommodation.
