SUMMARY
The mission of all Tops associates is to adhere to the Tops vision of providing a friendly neighborhood store that saves the customer time and money. Cashier is responsible for accurately and efficiently checking out customerAEUR™s orders, while providing attentive and friendly customer service.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
-Follow all Federal, State, and Local regulations as well as company policies regarding cashier operations, safety, and sanitation
-Check out customers efficiently and accurately using correct scanning method
-Bag customer orders
-Maintain security /minimize losses through awareness of pricing errors, coupons, checks, EBT, WIC, bottom of carriage items, and other transactions
-Provide courteous customer service; using please and thank you smiling, maintain eye contact with customers, and direct them to appropriate manager if necessary
-Stock supplies in immediate area, as well as return shop backs, retrieve carts, and perform miscellaneous cleaning, facing, and straighten various shelf sections
-Handle money, checks, and other media and distinguish between various forms of currency
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must be 14 years of age and 18 years of age to perform certain functions/tasks
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
-Ability to read, write, and perform basic math functions
-Possess basic computer skills
-Possess strong communication skills
