The Staff Accountant supports a variety of mid-level accounting duties, which include both day-to-day activities and projects.

Responsibilities
-Post monthly, quarterly, and year-end journal entries
-Coordinate company-wide allocation entries from various departments including IT, HR, and purchasing
-Reconcile monthly sales volume between Front-End and FI and upload final volumes to SAP
-Prepare and maintain monthly reconciliations including AR sub-ledger, bad debt allowances, misc. AP, AR, Prepaids, and Sales
-Research and correct account discrepancies and variances
-Assist Fixed Asset Accountant with setting up capital projects and budget changes including resolving work order errors
-Assist Fixed Asset Accountant in the administration of the company-wide leasing module for property and equipment leases
-Prepare annual budgets for vehicle licenses and various property insurance expenses
-Prepare amortization schedules for company-wide vehicle registrations and annual insurance premiums
-Prepare ADHOC reports for management and operations
-Prepare audit schedules and complete requests from external auditors during quarterly and year-end audits
-Properly execute controls to ensure compliance with JSOX
-Provide support as needed to other members of the corporate accounting team
Education
Bachelor’s degree, Accounting degree preferred
Requirements/Qualifications
-Knowledge of GAAP financial reporting
-Proficient in Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
-Strong organizational and analytical skills
-Self-starter and strong work ethic
-Team-player and flexible
-Available to work extended hours and weekends as needed to meet deadlines
Preferred:
-Experience in the construction materials industry
-Experience with SAP
Conditions of Employment
Successful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check. Some positions require FMCSA regulated on-going drug and alcohol testing.
